Two colour illustrations. The first image is one of the main adversaries that Lo-Dane faces in the story. She has telekinetic abilities. Lastly, we have a lobster inspired transformation or persona for Lo-Dane. I was doing lot of research on http://www.thanuka.com/ and his illustrations were really inspiring, so I tried to base these two off of that. At the moment I'm looking at a tonne of illustrators and animators and most significantly Herge's Ligne Claire, to try to implement that style into a 2D Flash animation for this concept.
Visit www.biteycastle.com to look at some ground breaking flash animation.

Character Concept (unnumbered)

Priya Mehmi, one of Robyn's closest friends in her little punk rock clique. She's also another villain in-game, and not just a decorative NPC. Her Darkverse attire and mutated look is coming soon....as always.

Process of a level

The image says it all, this time. So double click to enlarge it.
I'll post a more polished illustration of both the level and the monster soon.

Brief Respite 2

One does try not to make a habit of filler 'content', but I suppose these in-between sketches lead towards something. Whatever that is.
Hopefully, there'll be full colour illustrations uploaded this weekend.
Tech. notes:
Open Canvas instead of Photoshop, this time around.

Brief respite

Still in the process of completing several illustrations for this concept, but here's a quick sketch to while the time away until something more polished is complete.

Construction Works In Progress

W.I.P Pinup illustrations of the two lead characters, Lo-Dane Song and Robyn Everett. I have to do these for a pitch presentation for the game...
First off, the two thumbnails:

Lo-Dane's the Protagonist, but more on him later on.

Robyn's the baddie and Lo-Dane's love interest. I'm really going to try to examine head trips with this relationship.

Dance when your life depends on it

Some time near the end of last year, I got the unique opportunity to create my own brief for my own original intellectual concept. Being a Games Design student, this would obviously be a game, but what was liberating about this rare chance was that I had full control to dictate the rules of, and the content of my creation. I could put in anything- aliens, androids or asexual flesh eating Llamas.

The only draw back was that I had to plan how to create it; budget myself whilst trying to flex all my creative muscles. At the time, one of the story ideas I was playing with was a love story, any love story really, and being a guy I knew I'd probably never, ever approach that genre again unless I knuckled down and got it over with. And so, a foundation was set and I began imposing my personality on it-all the little things I loved, enjoyed or had been influenced by, experienced or had still to experience. I kept myself in check, knowing that I had to create this idea from the ground up.

Pull it out of the limbo wherein all my ideas take up residence and out into the light.

This Blog will showcase that idea's visual development and you'll learn more about the story in posts to come. Stay tuned.
